Another cache along the River Raisin Heritage Trail (RRHT).
This cache was initially going to be a replacement for another we had placed about 250' away, but due to the type, location and uniqueness of this one, I decided it would be best to give it it's own listing.
Parking spaces should be plentiful but if you are looking to drive your vehicle into the state park for this one, you will be required to have a Michigan Recreation Passport or a daily permit to enter the park. However, those looking to leave a vehicle at the posted parking area on Elm Avenue, near the Elm Ave trailhead, will be granted free access by way of the River Raisin Heritage Trail. Parking at this location will require a walk or bicycle ride of About 2.75 miles round-trip whereas parking within the state park will require a trek of approximately 2 miles. Please note: no motorized vehicles are allowed on the trail.
The trail is accessible during daylight hours only.
As always, this cache is hidden out in nature and you may encounter various wildlife. Be cautious and also consider bringing a camera for these occasions.
Always practice cache in trash out (CITO) and be respectful of our natural resources.
Congratulations to QX56 for being the FTF!
