Geocache Description:

First in what I hope will be a little series of geocaches based on modern and popular art. This one is about Andy Warhol, perhaps the most famous of the Pop Art artists.

Andy Warhol

Andy Warhol was an american artist, director and producer  - a leader in the Pop Art movement. His famous works include Campbell Soup Cans, celebrity paintings and silk screeprints, participating in the BMW art car project, through to using urine in paintings on canvases primed with copper paint that oxidised.

A hugely influential artist, he also adopted the band the Velvet Underground and influenced new wave band Devo, and David Bowie.

Wikipedia has a thorough account of Warhol's life, times and works and is well worth a read.

This geocache is in an area that at weekends is particularly thronged with muggles, as it is close to the swimming pool and gymnasium.  You'll need your stealth to find the cache and sign the log. The park is a nice place for a walk and you can complete a circuit in about 45 minutes - you'll see plenty of walkers, runners and doggies. You will need to bring your own pen to sign the log, and sorry, no room for tradeables or trackables.
