Naan is located in central Israel near Rehovot. It falls under the jurisdiction of Gezer Regional Council. The first kibbutz that was established by Jews born in Eretz Israel. Naan is largest kibbutz in Israel, in terms of population. It was founded in 1930 by members of the youth group "HaNoar Haoved", a on lands purchased from the Arab village of El Naani. Before the establishment of the state of Israel, the people of Naan were active in both the British and Jewish Brigade, and in the Haganah. Prominent Haganah leader Yisrael Galili was member of this kibbutz.

ומקבל חברים חדשים. ב-1937 הוקם מפעל לתבניות מתכת
ששינה את יעודו לייצור ממטרות. המפעל נמכר ב-2012 לחברה
.הודית. ב-2005 הוא עבר הפרטה ועבר לשכר דיפרנצילי
