Geocache Description:

This cache is NOT at the listed Coordinates. Review the Final Waypoint.

A few years ago we came across the now archived GC3NXGK placed by Run N Search in Wisconsin which required finding caches in counties for each letter of the alphabet.  We liked the concept and told many of our caching friends who enjoyed caching counties about it.

The Challenge:  Find a cache in US Counties where the county name starts with each respective letter of the alphabet.
Special considerations for Q, X and Z
X – Since there are no US Counties starting with the letter “X”, you must use a cache from a county with ends with the letter "X" such as Knox Co.
Q – There are only 5 US Counties that start with “Q” , so if you do not have a find in one of those 5 counties that start with “Q”, you may substitute a cache from a county with a Q anywhere in the county name such as Marquette Co.
Z – There are only 3 US Counties that start with "Z" .  If you do not have a cache in a county that starts with “Z” you may substitute a county with “Z” anywhere in the county name such as Santa Cruz Co, or Ozark Co, IN.
Of course having one of the actual counties starting with “Q” or “Z” will get extra recognition.

You cannot use the same county twice i.e.  Any county used for the special considerations for Q, X, Z may not be used for another letter of the alphabet. Note the checker looks for the Q, X, Z first and then does not allow any of those counties to be used for another letter. So for instance Valdez CO, Alaska would count towards "Z" and would not show up as a "V" county.

Similarly the checker regularly pulls in the first county it finds with a "Z" in the name, even if you also have one starting with a Z. If this happens, feel free to add a note showing that you have a "Z" and/or a "Q" county.

For purposes of this challenge the Virginia Independent Cities will be considered counties so feel free to drive into Galax for your qualifying find.

For those who are interested in such things, we qualify for this challenge with finds in all 3 "Z" Counties (Ziebach, SD, Zavala, TX and Zapata, TX), as well as all 5 of the counties starting with Q.
