Geocache Description:

This is one of a series of caches, covering a few sections of this new trail. Starting at Middle Rd (County Rd 46) at Comber Ont. the series covers a few concessions(South Middle Rd,Con.309,310 and 311) ending at County Road 8 in Staples. Not meant to be a power number trail, as we do offer difference varieties caches, with most being straight forward, but a few with a twist, though this is a magnetic nano still a easy find

Welcome to the Lakeshore Trail (LST),was the site of a railroad spur line that junction off the old main line in Comber and ran through Staples on its way to Leamington Ontario. This spur was necessary to provide a junction of rail for Heinz factory in Leamington Ontario to box car their can and bottle products on the train known locally as the "Leamington Flyer" but not because of its speed of (10 mph) which is the maximum for the Leamington Branch. The Leamington Flyer was only engine, used to tote about twenty box cars for this 14 mile junction from the Heinz plant to the main rail line in Comber. The rails have long been torn out. Now reopen as a country view walkway/bike trail. This creates a continuous trail network basically from Comber Ontario to the end of the Greenway up near Amherstburg Ontario covering roughly 63.5 km. The only thing missing and needed, for these new sections is being loaded with caches.
