Geocache Description:

This is a coffee can sized cammoed container stuffed with lots of SWAG! Because of the season be aware of poisonous plants, ticks and snakes!

This cache is in memory of my dad, John H. Sponberger who passed away on April 27, 2017, just shy of his 89th birthday.  He was an avid geocacher who dearly loved this hobby, Jolusberg was his geocaching nickname.  He became a member in April, 2005 and spent years geocaching with his children and grandchildren.  I began caching with him around 2009 and we got very serious about it in 2011.  We went every week that we were able and if you read our logs, it was usually on a Tuesday!  This became our way to spend quality time together and over the last few years he had to be on oxygen and eventually had to use a walker to get around, but it did not stop him from pursuing what brought him so much happiness.  He was our navigator and I got out and searched for the caches, bringing them back to our car to log our find.

This is placed along one of the backroads we drove all the time.  We found most of the caches in this area, but there were still a few we couldn't find...we always came back and tried again.  This is also about half way between my house just above the Tennessee line and his house just below the Tennessee line in Georgia.  Daddy loved going through the big ones and picking out just the right thing to take and scouring his stash for the perfect item to leave....he kept meticulous records!
