Geocache Description:

Celebrate Canada Day with us on Mount Kilimanjaro and get your Canada Day Souvenir!

Celebrate Canada Day with us on Mount Kilimanjaro and get your Canada Day Souvenir!

Canada is celebrating 150 years of confederation on July 1st, 2017. Geocaching HQ has deemed that there will be a souvenir on that day, so what better thing to do than to celebrate all things Canadian, while on an exciting climb up Mount Kilimanjaro to the Roof of Africa!

What could be more exciting than celebrating Canada’s 150th in this most excellent place? The event will take place just after sunrise on July 1st between 6:00am and 8:00am on July 1st, 2017. The location is chosen because all routes up the mountain meet here and most hikers reach the summit early in the morning in time for sunrise. When logging your “Will Attend” please note the route you will be following as well as your approximate time of arrival at the summit and the name of the guide group. In keeping with the Guidelines of Event caching there will be no logbook to sign but a chat and an exchange of caching stories is mandatory.
