Admiral Ackbar Traditional Cache

Admiral Gial Ackbar is from the amphibious Mon Calamari species which are fish-like, amphibious humanoids with salmon-colored skin, webbed hands, high-domed heads and large fish-like eyes.  After the Galactic Empire invaded and destroyed most of Ackbar’s home planet of Dac, he convinced his people to support the rebels and Ackbar became an integral part of the Rebel Alliance.  Ackbar was eventually promoted to commander of the entire Rebel fleet and head of military operations. 

In Return of the Jedi, Admiral Ackbar masterminded the rebel attack on the Empire’s second Death Star, which intelligence suggested was not yet functional. Prior to the attack, Han Solo led a team on the forest moon of Endor to disable the Death Star’s energy shield generator.  Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker volunteered to assist Solo, but Luke left to visit with his dad soon after arriving on the moon.  When Admiral Ackbar and his fleet arrived, they found that not only was an energy shield still protecting the Death Star, but the Death Star was fully operational. With encouragement of General Lando Calrissian, Ackbar and the Rebel Alliance continued to fight and eventually destroyed the Death Star by taking advantage yet another amazing design flaw.  This battle is known as the Battle of Endor.

DIRECTIONS & DETAILS :

This strip mall parking lot can be entered from both directions on Merrick Road. Some GPSs may guide you to the bank next door, but the the best parking for cache is on the West side of the strip mall (go straight after entering parking lot - spots on your left). The lot is small so it's an easy walk from wherever you park.

When I saw the cache holder the shape kinda reminded me of Admiral Ackbar's head (without the eyes).  To open the outside cache holder lift the up slightly before pulling. Please bring a pen and you may need a pin/tweezers to retrieve the log. When replacing the final log holder it should be put back on its side so it can close. Thanks!
