Kishwaukee Paddle Trail. A series of caches for everyone but placed and intended to be sought while paddling. No consideration has been taken for hikers. Occasionally these caches will not be accessible, be safe, respect high water, ice, private property and yourself. Have fun!
These are worse case ratings, the hides are not hard to find and will consist of many types and sizes of containers, some might be decorated. I spend considerable time with two devices to make sure the cords are good. The river is pleasantly clean of trash however expect to encounter MUD, ticks, skeeters, snakes, broken glass, barbwire, fences, thorns, etc. Cache numbers are order of placement. All require a boat exit. Best when river at 3 feet at Belverdere gauge. Bring your own pen or pencil, unsigned logs will be removed. Off road parking and landing can be found at…. County Line Rd N42 15.498 W88 42.353 Lawrenceville Rd Redhorse Bend N42 15.741 W88 49.013. Can put in at other roads but no formal parking/landings. Paddle up for most east 4 caches. A group in Marengo has been busy upstream by opening log jambs, cleaning, and building new launches. New launch and parking at Siems Park in Union and Woodbine Ln in Marengo. this is a shallow section with parts cleared. 5/16/21 river is cleared of log jambs from Siems Pk. to Millstream Rd. and from Deerpass Rd. to about a mile west of Rt. 23.
