Getting to Peaks Island will be the most challenging part of this hunt. Without your own vessel, you will need to take the ferry from Portland. The island is 4 mile loop along the paved road and is easy to walk. FYI - it's often much cooler and windier here. Wear bugspray in the woods and always check for ticks. Please be respectful of private property and wildlife, ride safely and help keep the island clean. Peaks is an amazing adventure all it's own - enjoy!
One of many Peaks Island Pirate Caches, this one brings you to the view of Pumpkin Knob, a tiny island just east of Peaks Island. This quiet corner of the island is called Evergreen Landing, where once stood one of old Peaks Island's three ferry docks. Washed out long ago, all that remains are some iron support rings drilled deep into the ledges. Bring some money to buy Peaks Island Honey, if you like... Be discreet in this popular beach spot and carefully rehide so the cache doesn't get muggled! What traffic do you see in the pass today? BYO pen and some treasures to trade! Good Luck, Matey! ~ Winter Pirate
