Geocache Description:

This cache was hidden as part of the
2017 Are You Geocacher Enough? Road Rally

Hidden out here is this tiny cemetery known as Ball Cemetery.  There's only a couple of headstones still around.  When we hid a cache here in 2012 fate stepped in to help us out.  A car pulled up and an elderly man got out.  As we started chatting with him about the cemetery, we found that his wife's ashes had been spread here.  They are at the front end of the plot where you see a newer wood cross labeled Mom.  Not much is known about those buried here as the remaining headstones are unreadable and have been for many years.  The gentleman told us to the best of his knowledge there were about 7 people buried here.  Probably from the logging era.  The township had only just recently built the fencing around the plot and officially recognized it at that time.  It didn't show up on any maps we had.
As we were hiding this cache, we came across a memorial piece for Ric Glanton (1953-2015) in the woods behind the cemetery.  We weren't sure if it was supposed to be there or in the cemetery, so we let it be.  A little research discovered he was a residence of North Carolina, where he died and his service was held.  Not sure how or why this ended up here, but a message to the family will be sent.

Special thanks to Ruttroh for this cache!
