De retour dans la région du Pays du Der, avec Youbs26 nous vous proposons un week-end de Géocaching sur le lac du der et sa région.
Un peu d'histoire:
Le lac du Der-Chantecoq ou lac-réservoir Marne (souvent abrégé en lac du Der) est un Lac du nord-est de la France. Il est situé dans Région champagne Ardenne, à la limite des départements de la Marne et de la Haute marne.
Construit pour protéger Paris des inondations, le lac du Der-Chantecoq a pour but de renforcer le débit de la Marne en étiage et d'en atténuer l'ampleur des crues. Il doit son nom à la fois au Pays du der, région naturelles où il est implanté, et au village de Chantecoq qui fut détruit avec ceux de Champaubert-aux-bois et Nuisement-aux-bois lors de la construction du lac dans les années 60 70. Sa capacité nominale est de 350 hm3.
Avec une superficie de 48 km2, il est le plus grand lac artificiel d’europe en excluant les lacs de barrages. Il est par ailleurs le plus grand lac artificiel de France métropolitaine toutes catégories confondues.
3 villages immergés…
- Champaubert-aux-Bois : De ce village de 180 habitants, seule son église, installée sur un promontoire, a été sauvée des eaux. Protégée contre les vagues du large, l’église veille maintenant sur le lac.
- Chantecoq : Le village de pur style champenois comptait 57 habitants en 1964. L’ensemble du finage de cette petite commune est sous les eaux sauf une petite colline devenue l’Île de Chantecoq.
- Nuisement-aux-Bois : Réputé pour ses vignes, le village de 64 habitants vit à travers son église à pans de bois et sa maison du forgeron, démontées et remontées pièce par pièce sur le site du Musée du Pays du Der à Ste Marie du Lac Nuisement. Le combat de ces femmes et hommes du Bocage invite les visiteurs à se souvenir de ce passé.
Le lieu d’accueil :
Pour cette édition 2017 c’est l’école de voile du Centre Culturel Haut Marnais sur la presqu’île de Champaubert qui vous accueil. Sa grande salle, et ses sanitaires et son accès handicap seront un atout privilégié pour l’organisation de l’évènement.
Lors de ce week-end, sera proposé :
- Un CITO, une série de caches de nuit, des caches arboricoles et divers circuits.
- Une découverte ornithologie et histoire du lac (sur réservation 8€/ pers gratuit moins de 8ans)
- Une découverte de la voile catamaran pour les adultes et optimist pour les enfants de 7 à 11 ans (sur réservation 10€ / pers)
- Série kayak géocaching sur le lac (location possible sur place 15€/ pers ou avec matériel perso)
- Une petite surprise…

A little history:
The lake of Der-Chantecoq or lake-reservoir Marne (often abbreviated lake Der) is a lake in the north-east of France. It is located in Region Champagne Ardenne, on the border of the departments of Marne and Haute Marne.
Built to protect Paris from flooding, the lake of Der-Chantecoq aims to increase the flow of the Marne at low water level and to mitigate the extent of the floods. It owes its name to the Pays du Der, the natural region where it is located, and to the village of Chantecoq which was destroyed with those of Champaubert-aux-bois and Nuisement-aux-bois during the construction of the lake in the years 60 70. With an area of 48 km2, it is the largest artificial lake in Europe excluding the lakes of dams. It is also the largest artificial lake in metropolitan France in all categories combined.
3 immersed villages ...
Champaubert-aux-Bois: From this village of 180 inhabitants, only its church, installed on a promontory, was saved from the waters. Protected against the waves of the open sea, the church now watches over the lake.
Chantecoq: The village of pure style champenois counted 57 inhabitants in 1964. The whole finishing of this small commune is under the waters except a small hill became the Island of Chantecoq.
Nuisement-aux-Bois: Renowned for its vineyards, the village of 64 inhabitants lives through its timber-framed church and its blacksmith's house, dismantled and assembled piece by piece on the site of the Museum of the Pays du Der in Ste Marie du Lake Nuisement. The fight of these men and women of the Bocage invites visitors to remember this past.
The place of reception:
For this 2017 edition it is the sailing school of the Cultural Center Haut Marnais on the peninsula of Champaubert which welcomes you. Its large room, and its sanitary facilities and handicap access will be a privileged asset for the organization of the event.
During this weekend, will be proposed:
- A CITO, a series of night caches, arboreal caches and various circuits.
- A discovery ornithology and history of the lake (by reservation 8€per person)
- A catamaran sailing discovery for adults and optimist for children from 7 to 11 years old (reservation required 10€ per person)
- Kayak géocaching (rent kayak is possible for 15€per person)
