ye dern't have t' participate in th' booty exchange t' log th' event as a find but if ye do wish t' participate in th' booty exchange ye must follow these rules, to be sure. Please read th' followin' instructions carefully so that no one be disappointed.
1) Prior t' comin' t' th' event, ye must hide a Treasure Cache t' be exchanged with another Geocacher somewhere within 5 miles o' th' Park. th' $10 booty be o' yer choosin'...gift card, unactivated geocoins, unactivated Travel Bugs, swag items, etc. Place yer Treasure Cache in an inexpensive cache container and hide it t' be found later that day. Please make sure yer container be weather resistant and critter-proof. Don't forget t' mark th' coordinates fer yer hidden booty fer step 2.
2) ye must brin' a Micro Container t' th' event containin' a slip o' paper with th' coordinates o' th' Treasure Cache ye hid fer another cacher t' find. In addition, it would be a good idea t' write yer geocachin' name and cell phone number on th' paper just in case th' seeker needs t' phone-a-me bucko.
3) At th' event, th' Micro Container will be placed in a bowl and mixed up. Everyone who places a Micro container in th' bowl will then be able t' randomly choose another Micro Container from th' bowl. For those families with multiple cachers, ye may brin' more than one Micro Container but there must be one Treasure Cache hidden fer each Micro Container placed in th' bowl or someone will be disappointed.
4) After th' Micro Container Exchange, ye may sign th' event log and go find yer Treasure Cache. th' entire cache be yours t' keep includin' th' container so make sure ye take everythin' with ye when ye find it. These containers be not t' be left behind or published as a regular cache.
5) When ye log th' event as attended, please thank th' cacher who hid yer Treasure Cache. Feel free t' post pictures.
Remember... th' Micro Container exchange be 30 minute event so don’t be late! Aarrr!
