Geocache Description:

Toronto is a patchwork of old and new, modern and historic. Sometimes it is obvious and out in the open. Other times, the history of places lies quietly tucked away on one-way streets, unknown to anyone but those in the immediate neighbourhood.

Craven Road (originally named Erie Terrace) is one of those places. Tucked away, most people drive by without even paying it a second glance. Occasionally, though, the mysterious fence catches the eye of a passerby. What you'll find down this road is a fascinating glimpse into life in early Toronto, and how a neighbourhood has embraced their quirky, 100-year old fence and made it their own.

Enjoy this historic walking tour as you discover the secrets of the Craven Road Fence. The Wherigo cartridge can be downloaded by using the "Related Link" at the top of the cache page. Total walking distance is approximately 1.2 km (one way). The cartridge stages can be unlocked simply by walking through each one; there are no questions to answer. Instead, small tid-bits of interesting history on the area are provided as you walk along.

All the historic information is taken from this incredibly researched source: http://oncravenroad.blogspot.ca. Also, please be mindful that this is a small and tight-knit neighbourhood, so be respectful of people's properties and try not to visit after dark.
