He That Stews Gots the Blues Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Inuksuuk: We had a beautiful canoe ride up the Ouse in perfect calm and it's already November. We brought the chainsaw and did use it once but someone else had already been up in here with a chainsaw to clear a path through the first downed tree. Despite how much we enjoyed paddling up in this area, we decided to just archive the caches north of the bridge, and pick up our containers. It's always an obstacle course in here with fallen trees and then strong current in springtime. We just decided we didn't want to do maintenance up in here. That's not to say that we won't come back and paddle in here, just for fun. But we are not going to place geocaches in this section anytime soon.

Geocache Description:

It is not easy getting to these caches north of River Road on the Ouse River. You really need a plastic kayak.

These are T5 caches for a reason. It's a lovely section of the river, with a lot of wildlife, and no sign of people. However, getting here is not for everyone. I would not recommend taking a canoe in there. You might not be able to even get a kayak up this far when water levels are low. You will need to somehow manoeuver a small light kayak over a log jam. Good luck. If you manage to make it, you will have earned the T5 rating.
