Inuksuuk: We had a beautiful canoe ride up the Ouse in perfect calm and it's already November. We brought the chainsaw and did use it once but someone else had already been up in here with a chainsaw to clear a path through the first downed tree. Despite how much we enjoyed paddling up in this area, we decided to just archive the caches north of the bridge, and pick up our containers. It's always an obstacle course in here with fallen trees and then strong current in springtime. We just decided we didn't want to do maintenance up in here. That's not to say that we won't come back and paddle in here, just for fun. But we are not going to place geocaches in this section anytime soon.

Geocache Description:

Good luck getting over the log jam ! You really need a small plastic kayak to get to these caches north of River Road on the Ouse River.

You don't need to worry about wind here on the narrow, shallow section of the Ouse River. It's called, "ouse" for a reason. In dry weather, you might not be able to make it this far north on the river. There is a bit of manouevering to do with a kayak, and a log jam to contend with.

At least there's no rocks or wind.

To get over the log jam you either have to push push push over the logs, or get out of the kayak and slide it over the logs and get back in without falling into the river.

This is a T5 geocache for a good reason. Please don't complain if you have trouble or hurt yourself. You were warned. If you don't think you can manage it, there are a lot of other caches in the world.
