Fort Wilkins Historic State Park will be holding its 11th Annual Geocaching Event on the Keweenaw Peninsula in Copper Harbor, Michigan on September 9th, 2017. The event will begin with registration starting at 9:00 AM in the Picnic Shelter near the Fort Wilkins parking lot. Geocachers will be able to find several temporary caches (for the day) placed at historical, geological, and natural significant sites in and around the State Park. You must provide your own GPS. There is also no cell phone service, so don't rely on GPS function.
Geocaching will end at 2:00 PM with a bonfire and hot dog luncheon to follow at 2:30 PM in the Picnic Shelter near the Fort Wilkins parking lot; everyone in the park is welcome. A ticket will be given upon registration where prizes from our local businesses will be drawn after the event and stories about everyones experience can be told.
