The Mouse River through Minot has a storied history. After a historic flood in 1881, and another in 1969, an Army Corps of Engineers project was undertaken to improve flood water control through Minot. As a result of the project, channel improvements, flood control structures, pumping stations and other work gave us the river control that protected Minot up to the record breaking 250-500 year flood event of 2011.
At the icon's coordinates in an interpretive plaque that will provide the information required to calculate the final. The final is not far away, but requires more physical agility and nerves than the average LPC. Neearby is a bridge that was flood damaged during the 2011 flood, and can no longer support vehicle traffic. It has been blocked and remains a walking trail.
The final can be found at N 48° AB.CDE W 101° FG.HIJ
Using the data from the plaque at the icon's coords, calculate the final:
Use only whole numbers (no decimals) from interpretive plaque!
AB = “XX miles clearing & snagging” XX – 1
C = “XX miles channel improvement” XX ÷ 5
DE = “XXNN beginning year of project” NN + 2
FG = “XX channel cutoffs” XX + 2
H = “XX channel control structures” XX ÷ 12
I = “Y pumping stations” (Y x 3)/18
J = “XXXN project completion year” N - 2
