To celebrate the one year anniversary of our Geocaching activity we are planting a few caches today. We have spent many happy times caching with family and friends and appreciate all the CO’s who put out and maintain caches for us to find.
The upgrade of the Riverina Highway out to the Hume Weir is now complete. Up until now it was also cacheless. This is the way from Albury to the famous Hume Weir a road much travelled by this crew. Take your time to stop and take in the views – a very picturesque drive!
This is a very busy road (especialy on the weekends and at commute times), please be very careful pulling off the road and park carefully. There is not really room for caravans - just a car. The stop is best approached on the way back from the weir to Albury but you are able to make a right hand turn onto it from the other direction.
This is a short walk from the parking spot but you will see how absolutely worth it the effort is when you get to GZ.
Stay well behind the barriers, watch out for young children, be watchful of the wriggly sticks in summer. Still so worth it at the top. Oh and don't forget to stop and appreciate the vista on the walk back to the car.
