Komungla Bridge
The new Komungla bridge was opened to traffic in June 2017.
The new Komungla Bridge south of Goulburn is now open to traffic, providing a safer two-lane crossing, increased load capacity and one-in-20-year flood resistance. It has an increased load capacity from 24 tonnes to 70 tonnes, which means bigger trucks such as livestock transports can now travel on the road, a good outcome for local farmers.
The previous bridge (pictured) was closed several years ago due to safety concerns, and demolished in 2014.
Construction of the new bridge was jointly funded by the Goulburn Mulwaree Council and the Australian Government
