- Casi circular Diámetro: aprox. 800 m
- Superficie: 90 hectáreas
- Profundidad media: 1.5 m
- Minerales en agua: 6% de sodio, 2,6% de sal (NaCl), 0,5% de compuestos orgánicos
Formación
El lago blanco se originó de la inundación estacional de los alrededores y la concentración de minerales por evaporación. En este caso principalmente sales y sodio, que formaron borax. Por lo tanto, es un lago de bórax. Los depósitos naturales de este tipo se calculan en alrededor de 60 en todo el mundo.

Este Earthcache es parte de una serie de Earthcaches que he creado a lo largo de la Tupiza -> Uyuni Excursion.
En mi recorrido me sentí la información, que el guía nos dio, como incompleta. En algunos lugares, había unos pocos más información de Earthcaches, pero de lejos no en suficientes lugares.
La excursión suele durar 4 días y comienza en Tupiza, donde también es mejor reservar. Por supuesto nada habla en contra de la excursión en un coche de alquiler (al menos 4x4).
La alta calificación D/T proviene de la aclimatación necesaria, la reclusión y la enorme altura en la que se encuentra. Los problemas con el mal de altura no son infrecuentes y deben ser tomados seriamente.

Formation
The white lake originated from seasonal inundation from the surrounding and concentration of minerals by evaporation. In this case mainly salts and sodium, which formed borax. Therefore it is a borax lake. Natural deposits of this type are estimated to be around 60 worldwide.

This Earthcache is part of a series of Earthcaches that I created along the Tupiza -> Uyuni Tour.
On my tour I felt the information, which the guide gave us, as incomplete. In some places, there was a few more information by Earthcaches, but by far not at enough places.
The tour usually takes 4 days and starts in Tupiza, where it is also best to book. Of course nothing speaks against the tour in a rental car (at least 4x4). The high D / T rating comes from the necessary acclimatization, the seclusion and the enormous height in which you are.
Problems with altitude sickness are not uncommon and should be taken seriously.

Entstehung
Der weiße See entstand durch saisonale Einschwemmung aus der Umgebung und Konzentration von Mineralien durch Verdunstung. In diesem Fall vor allem von Salzen und Natrium, welche Borax bildeten. Daher handelt es sich hier um einen Boraxsee. Natürliche Lagerstätten dieser Art werden weltweit auf etwa 60 geschätzt.

Borax lässt sich unter an seinem Geruch erkennen und der Schaumbildung in Verbindung mit Wasser.

Dieser Earthcache ist Teil einer Serie von Earthcaches, welche ich entlang der Tupiza -> Uyuni Tour erstellt habe.
Bei meiner Tour empfand ich die Informationen, welche uns der Guide gab, als Ergänzungswürdig. An einigen Stellen gab es ein paar mehr Informationen durch Earthcaches, aber bei Weitem nicht bei genügend Orten.
Die Tour geht in der Regel 4 Tage und startet in Tupiza, wo sie sich auch am besten buchen lässt. Es spricht natürlich nichts dagegen die Tour in einem Mietwagen (mindestens 4x4) zu machen.
Die hohe D/T Wertung kommt von der nötigen Akklimatisierung, der Abgeschiedenheit und der enormen Höhe in der ihr euch befindet. Probleme mit der Höhenkrankheit sind nicht selten und sollten ernst genommen werden.
