Today, as we exited Mayakovskaya metro station for a lovely day on Tverskaya street, we noticed something terrible... the lack of caches in this area! So this is a kind of "spur-of-the-moment" cache, because we had a small hand-made magnetic container on hand. I love this area and it deserved to be geo-recognized! :-)
Mayakovskaya metro station, on the dark green line, was opened in 1938 and is among the nicest looking stations in Moscow. It was designed in the style of Russian Futurism, as envisioned by Russian poet Vladimir Mayakovsky (hence the name). At a depth of 33 meters, it was also used as a shelter during WWII.
