Here is the actual post from the Allen County Sheriff's social media site:
On 5-23-2017 at approximately 1:30 PM the Allen County Regional Bomb Squad was called to the 114 mile marker rest stop on Interstate 75 northbound, in reference to a suspicious device that was called into the Auglaize County Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol by a concerned citizen. The device was attached to a tree stump near the rest stop. The Bomb Squad utilized a remote controlled bomb robot to analyze the device and render it safe. A secondary search and evidence collection was carried out by a Bomb Technician. It was eventually determined that the device was a geocaching GPS unit covered with a camouflage material. Geocaching is a popular hobby for many that requires hiding GPS devices but most times they are clearly marked as a geocaching device. At this time there is no additional or ongoing investigation by the Bomb Squad, but we ask those that place geocaching devices to please take into consideration the possibility of raising alarm or causing a panic when placing them in well-traveled public spaces.
