This is the first in the Hopefield series. Owner is aware of the cache and granted permission to enter the premises at any time of the day. Please treat the area with respect, close the gate, and replace the cache where you found it. Cover up nicely again for the enjoyment of others.
The building was built in 1855. Originally used as a grain store, it was converted into a field hospital during the English Boer War. In 1926 it became the Central Boarding House, a popular hangout for the farmers in the district. After several different owners, it is now the residence of the Griffiths family.
