Mary Hyde's Treasure Chest Addendum
There is so much history and so many memories here that it is not a cache to simply archive. For a while now there have been challenges in accessing GZ, discussions with eThekwini Municipal workers in clearing the bushes, makeing the pathways accessible again.... all to no avail
It is now a mini jungle. You cannot even SEE that there was a path (see pic Hide01)
I am reluctant to archive this one. There are good memories of that day - with four events to engage the little ones with prizes, caches, eatieries, sponsored goods, a CITO and a group FTF that included some Internatinal cachers as well
Therefore I made the following decisions :
- to keep the original web description below for good memories
- to leave the "chest" where it was as a final resting place
- to move GZ to a more easily accessible location (from the prominade)
- to place a new "replacement" container for logs
The coords have already been updated for the new GZ
See the image "Hide03" for a spoiler for the new location. It is magnetic and underneath the lower horizontal bar as in the image
Parking is still at the two given waypoints but you can also park (now for free) inside the Suncoast Casino parking area and walk through onto the prominade
Thank you for everyone's patience while I attempted to get this resolved... but no luck!

A Treasure Chest for for a Pirate

There are a few things to remember here......
1. You are a pirate
2. In pirate days there were no satellites
3. Nor GPSes and co-ordinates
4. You must rely on your bird-brain parrot, the blind monkey and your geosenses
5. Pirates break all the rules, which is why they BURY treasures
6. Like this one....
7. So roar your LOUDEST 'Aaarrrrrrrrr' when you discover the treasure!
8. If the gold coins are missing, then someone got there before you
Where to moor your ship : Both "harbours" are free entrance. However, should you wish to make use of the Governor's Entrance, you will be required to part with ten golden sovereigns
