Midorigaoka Park is approximately 30 minutes by foot south-west of JR Obihiro station. Green Park, located within the larger Midorigaoka Park, is entirely covered by lawns (approx. 8 ha) and has a 400-meter long bench that once held the Guinness World Record as the longest bench in the world. It is a popular recreational area for the citizens. The Obihiro Centennial City Museum, Obihiro Museum of Art, Children’s Hall, and Obihiro Zoo are all adjacent to the park, and other facilities close by include a park golf course and a wildflower garden. One can also enjoy boat rides on a small lake east of the Centennial City Museum. Overlooking this lake from the south side is a small viewing platform with two benches on it. A small geocache is hidden somewhere in the vicinity of this platform. You will need to bring your own pen.
