Look up, wwwaaay up, when you start in on this road allowance. You will see that the directional arrows used by the ATV club are extremely high up on the pole. This is jokingly refered to as signs high enough for airplanes to turn down the trail. When NVATVC's trails opened in 2008, there was a gentleman who was not happy with the ATV club's use of this road allowance and continually removed the signs, hoping it would deter the use of the road allowance. It became a challenge to put the signs higher and higher each time until it got to a point they were too high for anyone to remove. They started at head height, then went to arm's length. NVATVC used a ladder, he removed them with the bucket of a tractor. Finally, with some ingenuity the signs become comically high. The gentleman has since come to terms with sharing the road allowance with all users; however, the airplane turning signs remain a reminder of less happy times.
