The arboretum is located on the University of Guelph, and is open year-round. The numerous trails offer a wealth of ecological diversity. Take the time to enjoy the gardens, trees, ponds, and sculptures. Parking is free for visitors. Information about the Italian Garden located here can be found on the arboretum website.
Look closely - this area is rich with biodiversity. The flowers planted here attract honeybees from the nearby university beehives, as well as other insects. Take a look at the pond - are there any tadpoles or frogs in it? Over 200 species of birds have been sighted on the grounds (I saw a cardinal after placing this cache) - how many can you spot? There will be different birds present depending on the time of year. Go for a walk and see how many different tree species you can find. Enjoy your visit to the arboretum! Note: I have marked this cache as stroller friendly, but please be aware that the paths are not paved. Please keep a close eye on small children near the pond. Cache may not be accessible during the winter, depending on snow levels.
