La cache si trova vicino al cosiddetto "Grotte di Catullo". Qui, ci sono stati una villa romana con una spa caldo. Un museo allingresso della "Grotte di Catullo" è ampio informazioni sul lantico sistema. Il museo non ha nulla a che fare con la cache e non deve essere inserito, ma merita una visita in ogni caso. Il biglietto costa 8 € (2019) e il lunedì è probabilmente chiuso.

Als sich vor rund 60 Millionen Jahren die afrikanische Kontinentalplatte gegen die eurasische Kontinentalplatte zu schieben begann, kam es in dem dazwischenliegenden Ozean zum Auftauchen ersten Landmassen aus dem Meer, dessen Ablagerungen getauscht und gehoben wurden. Geologische Bedeutung für das heutige Landschaftsbild des Gardasees hatte jedoch die Eiszeit. Vor ca. ein bis zwei Millionen Jahren, als das von den Strömungen zerrüttete Gestein von gewaltigen Gletschern ausgeschürft wurde. Dessen Spuren man noch heute verfolgen kann, insbesondere durch die Endmoränen um das Südufer.
Eine geologische Einzigartigkeit sind die Kalkterrassen an der Spitze der Halbinsel von Sirmione. Flache Kalkplatten, die knapp unter der Wasseroberfläche liegen und noch ein Relikt aus der Zeit der Gletscher sind. Besonders für Romantiker bieten die Kalkterrassen eine unvergleichliche Kulisse. Das Sonnenlicht, das auf die Platten trifft, lässt den Gardasee in schimmernden Farben strahlen und leuchtet bei Sonnenuntergang in vielen Farbtönen.
Der Cache ist auf öffentlichen Weg und ist immer zugänglich. Geh da hin und guckt auf die Kalkterrassen.
Um den Cache zu loggen müssen folgende Fragen beantwortet werden:
1. Nach wie vielen Meter verschwinden die Kalkterrassen im Wasser.
2. Beschreibe die Kalkterrassen mit einfachen Worten.
3. Mache bitte ein Bild vor Ort. Alle Logs ohne ein Foto sind für mich unglaubwürdig.

Der Cache liegt neben so genannten "Grotten des Catull". Hier gabt es eine römische Villa mit einer heißen Therme. Ein Museum am Eingang zu den „Grotten des Catulls“ gibt ausreichend Infos über die antike Anlage. Das Museum hat mit dem Cache eigentlich nichts zu tun und muss nicht betreten werden, ist aber auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert. Die Eintrittskarte kostet 8 € (2019) und am Montag ist wohl geschlossen.
