Geocache Description:

The MoCo Expo Geotrail is a way to help introduce people to geocaching in Morgan County, WV in a fun and family-friendly way. All of the caches in this small trail are kid-friendly!

This is a small 15-cache trail - most are new, but a few have been "repurposed" for this trail (thank you LisaandDarin and mclibraryladywv!) This is our very first effort, so be kind in your reviews.

The county seat is Berkeley Springs, which boasts a warm spring that maintains a year-round temperature of 74 degrees. The "run," as residents call it, is a great place to bring your family for a refreshing (free!) soak, or to just dangle your feet and relax. While you're there, you can get a selfie in front of "George Washington's Bathtub!"

All of the caches in this trail are 1/1's to 2/2's. The idea is to make it easy for brand new geocachers to find at least most of them.) Each cache contains a "clue." Write the clue on the Passport you can find at the MCGC Event on Friday, July 21 at Berkeley Springs State Park (GC777KH) and then afterward at the Morgan County Extention Office, the Morgan County Public Library, and at some of the shops in town.

Now, for the cache:

The location of this cache is at a local historical house of worship.  It was originally part of the Norborne Parish that was established here in 1742.  It is one of several historic and architecturally significant churches in town. Constructed in 1882-3 by bathkeeper, inventor and builder Henry Harrison Hunter, it is an eclectic mix of Victorian Stick style and Tudor. Until the building was constructed, church members met at one of the hotels that have since burned down, then in a nearby cemetery, and also in parishioner’s homes. The rectory next door was built in 1888. The cache you seek is a small lock-n-lock. It's big enough for small swag, and small-ish TB's. The cache is hidden in a place that will be easy to reach even with little ones.  The hosts have asked that you be considerate of their Sunday morning activities, and search quietly if a service is in session.  Because of the recent relocation of one of the busiest stores in town, muggle activity has significantly decreased of late, but the nearby GCV watering hole is still pretty busy. Depending on when you arrive at this location, there could be a good bit of muggle traffic.  Be vigilant, be stealthy, and the prize will soon be in your hands.  Please make sure to put the cache back EXACTLY where you found it.
