RIMSKJOLD UNGDOMSHUS Det lokale ungdomslaget i denne delen av bygda, Vindhella ungdomslag, var stifta alt i 1904. I 1934 bygde laget eige hus på garden Husum sin grunn. Huset fekk namnet «Rimskjold» og kosta 10.000 kroner. I kjellaren var det planar om folkebad. Under andre verdskrigen vart huset rekvirert av tyske militære til soldatkvarter. Eit kulehol i ei vindaugerute skal minna om det.

Vindhella ungdomslag vart etterkvart nedlagt, men privatpersonar og Lærdal kommune tok initativ til å bevara huset. I samband med 200 års jubileet for kongevegen i 1993 vart det etablert veghistorisk utstilling her i samarbeid med Statens vegvesen og vegmuseet.

Dei fleste eldre ungdomshus er bygt om og «modernisert» slik at dei er meir tenlege til forsamlingshus for vår tid. Rimskjold ungdomshus er utvendig og innvendigt originalt slik det vart bygt; likt mange andre ungdomshus på bygdene i 1930-åra.

Då den Bergenske Kongeveg vart bygd på slutten av 1700-talet, fekk ein for fyrste gong køyreveg mellom Aust- og Vestlandet. I dag er den gamle Kongevegen eitt av dei finaste veghistoriske kulturminna vi har. Den 10 mil lange vandreruta Kongevegen over Filefjell tek deg gjennom nokre av dei vakraste landskapa i Noreg. Frå tronge og dramatiske fjordlandskap inst i Sognefjorden, via høgfjellet på Filefjell, og ned i innlandsbygdene i Valdres. Ei reise mellom landsdelane - med den historiske Kongevegen som den raude tråden undervegs. Der vegen er borte nyttar ein andre trasear, slik at det blir ein samanhengande turveg frå Lærdalsøyri til Vang. Syklistar har alternative ruter utanom dei mest sårbare delane av Kongevegen.

RIMSKJOLD THE YOUTH HOUSE The local youth team in this part of the village, Vindhella youth team, was founded in 1904. In 1934 the team built the houses on the farm Husum. The house was named "Rimskjold" and costs 10,000 kroner. In the basement, it was planned a public bath. During the Second World War, the house was commissioned by German military to the soldier quarter. It's a bullet hole in a window to remember about it.

Vindhella youth team was subsequently closed down, but private individuals and Lærdal municipality took initiative to preserve the house. At the the 200th anniversary of the King's Road in 1993, where it established a road history exhibition here in cooperation with the Norwegian Road Administration and the Road Museum.

The older youth houses have been changed and "modernized" so that they are the mainstream of the assembly house for our time. Rimskjold youth house is exterior and interior originally as it has buildt; Like many other youth houses in the 1930's.

Bergenske Kongeveg, built at the end of the 1700s, was the first proper road between eastern and western Norway. Today, the old Kongevegen is one of our most beautiful cultural heritage routes. The 100 km Kongevegen across Filefjell walk leads through some of Norway's most spectacular scenery. From the narrow, dramatic fjord landscape innermost in the Sognefjord, via the high mountains at Filefjell, and down to the inland villages in Valdres. A journey from one part of the country to another – linked together by the historic Kongevegen.
