This cache was hidden by the kids and teachers of Tiny Trees Preschool, Camp long North on our last day of school to celebrate that we made it through our first year of outdoor preschool here in Camp Long! We have been outside every day for 4 hours, rain or shine, and we made it through the wettest winter in 122 years. We have learned a lot and had so much fun jumping puddles, watching owls and woodpeckers, making salmon-berry jam, hiking all the trails of camp long, building snowmen, finding geocaches, climbing trees, making nettle tea, playing hide and seek, finding salamanders and so much more.
We chose to hide the cache in the area we call the "Coat-hanger tree". We hike to this place sometimes to eat snack and play, but most of the time nobody is here, and you will probably have the place all to yourself to search for the cache.
Camp Long is one of Seattle's best kept secrets. Located in West Seattle, this 68 acre park offers visitors an opportunity to enjoy nature, hike in the forest, camp overnight in rustic cabins, rock climb, and learn about natural history. Rental facilities include a lodge with one meeting room, kitchen space, 10 cabins, two covered picnic areas, group fire ring, and climbing rock. A talented staff of naturalists lead group environmental education and rock climbing classes. Programs at Camp Long are fun, interactive experiences for all ages.
