However, instead of the paved old Koshu highway, the former Koshu Highway where people walked during the Edo period was even more difficult.
Therefore, there was a teahouse for break between Sasago Pass and Komakai-juku.
Amacha-jaya and Momonoki-chya know the existence.
Amacha-jaya was between Sasago Pass and Shimizu Bridge.
Momonoki-chaya was between Shimizu Bridge and Komakai-juku.

The way from Shimizu Bridge to Mononoki-chaya is almost the same as the current road.
The road from Mononoki-chaya to Komakai-juku seems to be different from the current road.

笹子峠は旧甲州街道の最大の難所と言われていました。
現在では、中央自動車道、国道20号ともに便利なトンネルができていますが、旧甲州街道の頃は舗装されていても難所でした。
しかし舗装された旧甲州街道ではなく、江戸時代に人が歩いた旧甲州街道はさらに難所ででした。
そのため、笹子峠と駒飼宿の間には休憩のための茶屋がありました。
笹子峠と清水橋の間に甘茶茶屋、清水橋と駒飼宿の間に桃の木茶屋がありました。
キャッシュは、桃の木茶屋跡の近くに置きました。
清水橋から桃の木茶屋は現在の道とほぼ同じですが、桃の木茶屋から駒飼宿までの道は異なっているそうです。
