Geocache Description:

OK, this cache may be showing my age, but can you remember it?

Ant Attack was a ZX Spectrum computer game by Sandy White, published by Quicksilver in 1983. It was converted to the Commodore 64 in 1984.

Ant Attack added an extra degree of freedom (ability to go up and down instead of just north, south, east and west), and it may be the first isometric game for personal computers. The author argued that it "was the first true isometric 3D game".

The player controls either a boy or a girl (the game allows to choose at the start) who has to enter the walled city of Antescher (a reference to the artist M. C. Escher) in order to rescue their significant other who has been captured and tied up somewhere in the city. The city is inhabited by giant ants which chase and attempt to bite the player. The player can defend themselves by throwing grenades at the ants. Once the hostage is rescued, the two must escape the city. After this, the whole thing starts again with the hostage located in a different part of the city, with each location being progressively more difficult to reach than the previous.

I thought I would put this cache on the side of the New England Highway at a lay-by to make you have a rest break and stretch your legs. Unfortunately, there are no picnic tables or amenities. The lay-by is just passed the Thomas Mitchell Drive turning on the way to Singleton just outside Muswellbrook.

If you are coming from the Singleton direction you will have to make a U-turn at the Thomas Mitchell Drive turning.

The cache should be easy to find, although you will have to walk a little way in a wooded area through long grass. The cache contains a Tupperware container that has a log book and pen. There is plenty of room for trackables.

You will soon find out why I am very protective of this cache please treat it with respect.

Please do not publish spoiler photos of the cache.

I have now moved to WA so cannot maintain this cache, so hope someone can add a note book when needed. Thanks.
