Situated on the Sunraysia Highway (B220), 35 km northwest of Ballarat, this rural district includes the localities of Addington, Burnbank, Glenbrae, Evansford, Ercildoune and Waubra.
The Waubra Township provides kindergarten, primary school, post office, general store and hotel services to the district, plus a range of recreation and sporting activities including the 2011 Central Highlands Football League Premiers, the Kangaroos.
Based on rich volcanic soils, the area has a diverse base of agricultural production including, potatoes, pyrethrum, winter cereals and livestock.
