Many cachers will recognize the Ironman, as he used to be on Pine Street. He was recently moved to his new home, which is a very suitable place, close to where the shipyards used to be. The plaque has not yet been moved with him, though. So I included here what the original plaque said.
"The Last Shift"
This piece was produced
To honour and celebrate the many
Men and women of Collingwood
Who contributed their skills
During a lifetime of work building ships at
"The Yard" (1883-1986)
This sculpture was created by local artist John McCaffrey, and he certainly enjoyed meeting all the cachers that visited the Ironman's previous location! Be sure to visit John's other sculpture (the cache there is called "Oh Snap!").
