Geocache Description:

A very simple cache, aiming to document the rise and rise of Mt Barker into South Australia's second largest city.

A very easy to find cache, which asks for a small favour!

For better or worse, Mt Barker is rapidly moving from regional town to urban centre. When I moved to Mt Barker a year and a half ago, this paddock was nothing more than pasture. Within months it had started to be carved up, in preparation for the 730 home Newenham development.

These days (mid 2017)  it is still primarily pasture - at least as viewed from the roadside. However, the first roads in are now finished, the lots are marked and utliities have been installed. It won't be long till the first houses appear.

The cache is easily found. I would really appreciate and encourage you to take a photo from this small rise, looking towards the development and post it with your log.

Over time these photos will document the rapid changes in the landscape, as the development progresses.

There is easy parking nearby on Kidman Road; beware the traffic as Flaxley Rd is a busy road. Stay on the Newenham side of the crash barrier - there's no reason to walk on the road; watch the geo kids. You're looking for the usual magnetic micro container.
