Rother Valley Country Park covers 3 square kilometres, has four artificial lakes, recreational activities, a minature railway, an Animal Farm with llama and alpaca plus other animals for the kids, a playgound or hire a boat and see the park from a different angle.
There are picnic areas throughout the park or you can bring your own BBQ (as long as it is off the ground). You can also buy food at the Stables Cafe or from the catering unit at the free play area.
If you’re interested in making the most of the day you could take a walk along the Trans Pennine Trail and visit the numerous caches that run parallel to the valley between Beighton and Killamarsh. These are accessible from the park and we will be happy to point the way.
Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council and the Rother Valley Country Park ranger service have kindly offered to support the event by providing a gazebo and donating a range of items you could use as swappables. They are always keen to promote geocaching, so here is our chance to meet each other, perhaps recruit some novices and show people what a friendly bunch we geocachers are.
There are 2 options for parking - one free and one chargeable, depending how much of a walk you want on the day.
Look forward to seeing you
