A "daytime lighthouse" looming up from the depths.

Perhaps because of its striking colour, Montaña Roja (literally: red mountain) has been mentioned by sailors and travellers for centuries, and it also features on maps drawn by numerous mapmakers. "Monterosso", as it was known in the past, is an essential landmark for everyone visiting the south of the island either by land or by sea. This was the case of Fernando de Magallanes, who anchored her in late 1519 before continuing his journey in search of a sea passsage leading to the east indies.

Montaña Roja is the major attraction in this Special Nature Reserve which also contains the only area of dunes in the Western Canary Islands. Although it looks like a desert, more than a hundred of species of plants and animals - especially birds - manage to survive in an environment marked by wind, hight temperatures, scarce rainfall and the effects of sea fog.

But why has the mountain that colour? The vulcano is made of material that contains small particles of iron that has oxidies to produce this characteristic reddish colour.

Please answer the following questions:

1. What material is the sculpture AGUJA made of?

2. What material is the scultpure American Star made of?

3. How many bolts does Amercian Star have?

4. In which direction from AGUJA lies the Montaña Roja
