Kloochman Rock, at 3,356' is 14 miles NNW of Lake Quinault and was home to a fire lookout from ~1934 to 1957. Although the cabin is gone, the peak still holds a platform used as a helipad by the park service. To get there take the Hoh Mainline to the C-3000 road, Left at the C-3100 road then right on un-numbered road up the hill to the trailhead. The hike is just under 1/4 mile, but climbs ~470' in that distance. The cache is before the park boundary on a relatively flat section of trail.
Although you can go straight at the C-3100 road, (and I've included those turns) recommend left, because it seemed to be a better road. A straight will take you past Yahoo Lake, a pristine spot with two camping spots about 475' from the parking area.

The more adventurous might continue up the trail and make the final climb to the platform. If you do, please be careful and know your abilities.
