About the Trail
The Hebron Trail was built on the former Kenosha Division Railroad that carried passengers, mail and freight from Kenosha, WI to Rockford, IL. The K.D. line ran from 1860 until its final voyage in 1939.
Traveling West from the parking lot takes you through rural farmland, open meadows and past the wetland complex of the Goose Lake Conservation Area (not open to the public).
McHenry County Owls
McHenry County is home to a variety of owls. There is the Barn Owl, Barred Owl, Great Horned Owl, Long-Eared Owl, Eastern Screech Owl, Short-Eared Owl and the Snowy Owl.

You DO NOT need to go down any embankments for this. The cache can be reached while still on the trail. Its shady here so that means mosquitos! They weren’t too bad though. Camoed peanut butter container
