Geocache Description:

Welcome to Webster Pond! The Fitness Inclusion Network has hidden a cache along the trail to showcase its accessibility in hope to get people of all abilities into the community. Enjoy!

There is a small parking lot to the side of the pond. The trail around the pond itself is ADA accessible. This is a small, rectangular cache that can be accessed near a gate that starts the pond trail.

Webster Pond is the only active conservation organization located within the confines of the City of Syracuse! Originally belonging to Revolutionary War Veteran Ephraim Webster, the Anglers Association made the pond their home in 1960. After much hard work and dedication, the pond was restored and all talk about making the once trash-strewn pond a landfill was laid to rest (http://www.websterpond.org). The pond is open year-round. It also provides other opportunities for the community such as a junior fishing program, summer and fall concerts and much more!

Fit-IN is a group of athletes, students, families, and professionals in adapted physical education, medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, engineering, therapeutic recreation, special education, social work, and disability policy and law. Our mission is to develop innovative ways to promote and support inclusive fitness for children, adolescents and adults with disabilities in Central New York.
