1923 m. žydai sudarė 7, 58% visų Pasvalio rajono gyventojų. Žydai daugiausia užsiimdavo prekyba, fotografija, batsiuvyste, kalvyste. Pasvalio žydai buvo labai vieningi, pasiturintys. Pasvalyje prieš karą gyveno 300 žydų. Jie buvo gana išdidūs, nors ir kuklūs, draugiški, labai nuoširdūs žmonės. Žydai gyveno Pasvalyje laimingai, nuoširdžiai bendraudami su visais miesto gyventojais.
