Geocache Description:

This series of caches is located on a pleasant walking loop between Poolsbrook and the Markham Vale reclamation site. The caches are placed just off the paths, with the permission of Chesterfield Council and Derbyshire Council. For details about the themes, bonus cache and history see the longer description on the first cache in the Loop: R.E.C.L.A.I.M. - 5, 6, 7, 8.

The R.E.C.L.A.I.M. series is a collection of Revamped Everyday Containers Lurking Amidst Industrial Memories, as the caches are in an area littered with signs of old railway links, mining and industrial areas, although this has now been flattened as part of the reclamation and you can see huge new buildings being created.

Continuing along the path it goes straight for a while but then as more trees appear you will see a fence and gate. There is a path coming in from the right just after this gate, although the continuing path you need is straight on. Firstly there is a cache to find though.

The inner container is a screw top bottle which is glued into another item giving it some camouflage. Look down low and explore, but bear in mind people may appear from three directions.

Once you have found this cache and the other eight then you should have nearly all the clues you need for the bonus cache. The last clue is on the webpage for the bonus track cache. This bonus cache can be found fairly close to the main path (within 100 metres of it) on the way back to the start of the loop so you may want to work out the coordinates as soon as you have all the clues rather than heading back to the end/start point. If you have missed any clues at this point then try answering the bonus questions for the relevant caches as your second chance. The question for this one is below.

Bonus Cache Music Question:
The song Don't Fence Me In was written in 1934 by Cole Porter, based on the poem Open Range by Robert Fletcher, and has been covered by many including Roy Rogers, Bing Crosby, Ella Fitzgerald, Willie Nelson and even some Disney characters and The Killers plus many more.
If you were to use the expression "Sitting on the fence," what would you be doing?

  • getting into an argument (I=5)
  • delaying making a decision (I=2)
  • lying about the truth (I=9)
  • talking about someone behind their back (I=7)

First To Find honours:
Nothing could contain DrunkNinjaHippo on this one as they claimed first honours on the fences as if they were a Grand National winner.
