School's out...but the cache is in!
This old school building was built in 1896 as Gettysburg's first high school. It eventually became an elementary school for 85 years and closed in 1994. It was meticulously restored into an 18-suite hotel in 2012 and provides luxurious accommodations. Although it is no longer a school, rumor has it that General George Meade's pencil case is still somewhere on the grounds. There is plenty of street parking so please don't park in the hotel parking lot. Also, be respectful of the property while searching. It is not located in any flower beds or in the landscape lighting. No tools necessary to retrieve this cache. This can be a busy area so be cautious of muggles.
