SLO: Z družino že od leta 2001 obiskujemo otok Ugljan (Preko) vsako leto. Ker mi je kraj prirasel h srcu, sem se odločila da postavim zakladek na poti do dveh lepih lokacij in hkrati pokažem prijetno pot za kolesarjenje, tek ali pohod.
ANG: My family has been wisiting Ugljan Island (Preko) every year since 2001. Because this island is like my second home, I decided to make a cach about a road to two beautiful places here. It is a nice road for biking, running or hiking.
The path starts in Preko. I added start of a trailhead (N 44 04,731 E 015 11,121). You go from main road there. If you start there, it will take you about 40 minutes to get to the cach. Path takes you up the small hill to a beautiful place where you can rest. There are tables and benches in the shadow. You continue your way on the road straight ahead. Help yourself with signs. Follow the way for Uvala Svitla (because there are more ways to get to the St. Michael's). When you get to the crossing where only sign is for Kali (city), don't follow that direction, but go straight ahead again. You pass by a house and then just follow the path.
Cach is located not far away from Svitla uvala. When you find it, you can simply follow signs towards Svitla uvala, or to St. Michael's (Sv. Mihovil).
St. Michael's was a fortress in 13th century. Before there were a monastery and a curch. Now there are ruins of fortress. Untill 2019 there was also a giant radio tower. You can see it on the picture below. Now it is on the other hill. From fortress you have beautiful view to Zadar and Kornati national park.
Svitla uvala is a small beach surrounded by nature, away from city and people, where you can swim in peace and quiet. Clean blue water is very tempting. There is also quay for small boats and yachts.
To get there, you have to go down the hill, which will probably take you about 10 minutes. You can't go there with bike, baby carriage or a car.
