This place is a real rarity - it's a little piece of woodland right in the heart of the city. Not a park, not a garden. Because the river Swan runs nearby (now underground), this plot has never been built on, so it's wild and now home to foxes and bats and sparrowhawks. The plot was left by its last owner, Katherine Goodfellow, to An Taisce, on the understanding that it would be preserved as wilderness.
And the river Swan? That's how the Swan Centre in Rathmines got its name, as well as Swan Place on the other side of Morehampton Road.
There's no room for trackables or swag and you'll need to bring your own pen. Stealth is a must. When you're replacing it, please point the arrow upwards. Thank you!
