Geocache Description:

Another little hidey-hole that was begging for a cache, on an island in riverbed of the Bealey River. Fortunately, the river has moved across the flats and it's a dry walk to the spot.

A large area of land here is actually owned, by the family of a man I know called Griff. His family have owned this land since the 1800s and used to have a house here that was carried away in the 1950s by a flood. The house floated serenley down the river until it came up against the rail bridge and was smashed up. We have some parts from the old ornate coal range that tuned up in the gravel a way downstream after a fresh about 10 years ago.. The land is now leased to the crown for $1 a year with Griff's famly having the right to camp. His kids have made a rock fort at the GZ.

The cache is a 500ml plastic food container. It contains a log book only so bring a pen. It's hidden in a natural hole in a small bank, and is a little below ground level from one perspective! Look out for the stout trap nearby. This cache has been muggles a few times so it's behind lots of rocks. Please replace them.
