Geocache Description:

Welfare Park, Evenwood Town. Joined the Northern League in 1931 and played there until the club were closed in 2005, with their league membership being transferred to Spennymoor.

Winners of Northern league in 1948, then again in 1970 and 1971.

With the formation of a second division in 1982, the club were relegated in 1984 and remained in that division until their demise.

The ground is currently used by Crook & District League side Evenwood Town although much of the infrastructure has been dismantled in the last ten years.

Easy traditional cache. There's ample parking close to the ground which is c150 metres from the cache. Container is a small plastic tube only big enough for a log and pencil. Please recover after doing your admin. The Football Micro Series is a series established by CoweyFamily and EL-JO.
