Why here and why the name? The local model flying club fly from this site, slope soaring radio control aircraft into the wind when it is from the West. If you pass by on the weekend, you are likely to see some magnificent models and flights - you might even be interested in doing it yourself!
Even without the models this point has a fantastic view; look to the West (ish) through 'The Cheshire Gap', between Hen Cloud and The Roaches - the lumpen hill in the distance is Bosley Cloud (National Trust), with the Cheshire Plain beyond. On a clear day you can even see the Jodrell Bank radio telescope!
Please be aware - this is private land and you should be respectful of the country code and any equipment positioned on it.
